Who benefits from our services?
Our services are for any veteran who feels their health concerns haven't been fully understood, evaluated, or connected to their service. This includes veterans who have been seen many times elsewhere but still don’t have answers for issues like back/neck pain, sleep problems, GI symptoms, headaches, fatigue, or mood changes.

Dr. Tony Ruffa DO is a board-certified family physician and veteran disability examiner dedicated to providing comprehensive health assessments for veterans. Comprehensive evaluations
A Comprehensive Veteran Health Evaluation is a full‑spectrum medical assessment designed to document a Veteran’s current health status, identify chronic conditions, and create a medically supported record that Veterans can use for their own care, wellness planning, or—if they choose—as supporting evidence for disability claims.
This evaluation is not a C&P exam and not tied to the VA. It is a private, physician‑led medical service that Veterans independently request.
Core Components of the Evaluation
1. Full Medical History Review
• Service history relevant to health
• Occupational exposures
• Deployment‑related risks
• Past medical and surgical history
• Behavioral health history
• Medication and treatment history
2. Comprehensive Physical Examination
A head‑to‑toe exam tailored to Veteran‑specific risks:
• Cardiovascular
• Pulmonary
• Musculoskeletal
• Neurologic
• Gastrointestinal
• Dermatologic
• Mental health screening
3. Condition‑Specific Screening
Based on age, service era, exposures, and symptoms:
• Sleep apnea risk screening
• PTSD/Anxiety/Depression screening
• TBI symptom inventory
• Gulf War illness screening
• Burn pit exposure symptoms
• Hearing loss/tinnitus review
• Chronic pain evaluation
4. Diagnostic Testing (as clinically indicated)
• Labs (CBC, CMP, A1c, lipids, thyroid, vitamin levels)
• Imaging (X‑ray, ultrasound, MRI if needed)
• Sleep study referrals
• Pulmonary function testing
• Cardiac testing
5. Functional Assessment
• Impact on daily activities
• Work limitations
• Mobility and endurance
• Cognitive or behavioral limitations
6. Medical Impression & Clinical Summary
• Diagnoses
• Severity
• Chronicity
• Medical rationale
• Relationship to exposures or service (if medically appropriate)
7. Veteran‑Requested Documentation
After the exam is complete, the Veteran may request:
• A medical summary
• A physician letter describing conditions
• A nexus‑style explanation (if medically supported)
• Records for personal use or submission
What This Service Does for Veterans
